CITU protests against moves by communal-fascist forces to destabilise the LDF government

Protest marches and public meetings were organised across the state today under the leadership of the CITU against moves by communal-fascist forces to destabilise the LDF government. CITU state general secretary Com. Elamaram Kareem MP inaugurated the public meeting held in Kozhikode.

The Kerala government is the only Left government in the country, and it raises an alternative to the central government's anti-people, anti-worker policies. The central BJP government is trying to squeeze this government financially, and the LDF government is moving ahead by resisting all of that. None of the Sangh Parivar's attempts to gain influence in Kerala have borne fruit; it has even lost the one member it had in the Legislative Assembly. It is in this situation that communal-fascist forces are trying to bring governance in the state to a standstill, including by using the Governor.

Tens of thousands of workers took part at various centres in the state against the Governor's move to topple the LDF government, which works as an alternative force against liberalisation policies and communalism.

CITU all-India secretary Com. P Nandakumar inaugurated the protest meeting held in Malappuram district. In Kasaragod district CITU state secretary Com. T K Rajan inaugurated the meeting; in Pathanamthitta, CITU state vice president Com. Neduvathur Sundaresan; in Alappuzha, CITU state vice president Com. C S Sujatha; in Kottayam, state secretary Com. P P Chitharanjan; and in Kannur, CITU state committee member Com. M V Jayarajan.
