CITU state committee hands over help to employees dismissed by Manappuram Finance
The CITU state committee distributed the financial help it collected, and food grain kits, to employees dismissed by the Manappuram Finance management in vindictive action.
The management dismissed without reason workers active in the Non-Banking and Private Finance Employees Association (CITU), and transferred workers, including women, to distant places. From the beginning the union has organised agitations against such anti-worker measures, and has been making conciliation efforts through the state labour commission, in contact with the state labour department, to resolve these issues. But because of the management's negative stand the problems have not been resolved, and the employees who lost their jobs are living a miserable life without wages even in the festival season. It is in this context that the CITU state committee distributed the relief money and food grain kits.
