Congratulations to the LDF government: CITU

Statement issued by the CITU state secretariat:

Congratulations to the Kerala government.

The CITU state secretariat congratulates the LDF government, which brought relief to the state's workers and poor people during Onam despite a severe financial crisis. The government took steps to ensure that the bonus due to workers in industry was paid without any dispute. Workers in traditional sectors such as beedi, handloom, cashew and fisheries also received a bonus or festival allowance. The government provided money to pay festival allowance to unorganised workers. Motor workers and workers who are members of the Unorganised Workers Welfare Fund Board were also given festival allowance.

Even as the people of Kerala try together to stop the spread of corona, the LDF government took steps to bring relief to the poor during Onam, the national festival of Keralites. Onam kits were given to every family through the Civil Supplies Corporation. Only a government committed to the poor can do all this.

The CITU congratulates the LDF government for making it possible to welcome this Onam in peace and happiness.

We appeal to everyone to strictly follow the restrictions laid down by the health department to stop the spread of corona.
