E Kasim's death an irreparable loss

E Kasim, member of the CITU all-India working committee and the CITU state committee and general secretary of the Cashew Workers Centre, has passed away. E Kasim was a leader who played a decisive role in organising cashew workers and unorganised workers in Kollam district and bringing them into the CITU. His sudden death came while he was active as a member of the CITU state committee, the CPI(M) state control commission and the CPI(M) Kollam district secretariat. He collapsed while attending a meeting of trade union representatives called by the Chief Minister to discuss the crisis facing the cashew industry. The comrade's death is a great loss to the trade union movement in Kerala.
