Farmers' struggle: workers too join the struggle

Workers have decided to join the heroic struggle farmers have been waging since December 12, demanding the withdrawal of the farm laws and the Electricity (Amendment) Bill.

Workers are opening a second front of struggle, also raising slogans including the withdrawal of the anti-worker labour codes, an end to privatisation and the abandonment of the new pension scheme. The CITU state office-bearers' meeting decided to make this struggle, called by the CITU national secretariat, a huge success in the state. President Anathalavattam Anandan presided over the office-bearers' meeting, and general secretary Elamaram Kareem spoke.

On December 30, workers' demonstrations will be held at all workplaces and area centres, ending in front of a central government office at each area centre. It was also decided to organise a statewide campaign against the central government's policies after that.
