Two-day nationwide general strike on February 23 and 24, 2022

Raising the slogan 'Save the people, save the nation', the joint trade union committee will hold a two-day nationwide general strike on February 23 and 24, 2022.

The joint trade union committee has called the strike raising twelve basic demands, including: scrap the labour codes; accept all the demands of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha; end the sale and privatisation of the public sector; provide food and financial help of Rs 7,500 a month to families that do not pay income tax; increase the employment guarantee scheme allocation and extend it to urban areas; and ensure minimum wages and social security for the country's scheme workers, including anganwadi, ASHA and midday meal workers.
