Chief Minister's Covid-19 relief fund

Statement issued by the CITU state secretariat.

Covid-19: contribute to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.

The Covid-19 pandemic that has spread across the world is spreading in Kerala too. From the very beginning, the Kerala government has made great efforts to prevent its spread and to help the people and workers who are suffering because of the lockdown imposed in the wake of the pandemic. The LDF government is taking up and implementing measures that no other state has taken. Even in this situation, it has decided to pay the salaries of public sector workers and government employees and the pensions of pensioners on time, and has begun distributing welfare pensions.

Even before Covid-19 broke out, the state government was in a serious financial crisis. Disasters came one after another, Ockhi, Nipah and the floods, and the LDF government faced them all bravely. The central government gave Kerala no significant help to face these crises. The government faced all the earlier disasters with the great support of the people and the workers. Now the Chief Minister has appealed to everyone to contribute as much as they can to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to face the Covid-19 disaster. The CITU state secretariat appeals to workers who have an income to contribute as much as they can to the Chief Minister's Covid-19 relief fund.
