CITU leaders visit the home of the anganwadi worker gang-raped and killed
CITU national secretaries Com. A R Sindhu and Com. Usharani visited the home of the anganwadi worker who was brutally gang-raped and killed in a temple in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh.
The rape and murder, similar to the Nirbhaya case, was reported in Uttar Pradesh on January 6. The family of the murdered worker said that although the UP police have registered a case and begun an investigation, the police did not investigate even after a complaint was filed that the woman was missing, and that they want justice. There are also protests against the controversial statement of the National Commission for Women on the Badaun incident. A member of the commission told the media the other day that the problem was her going out in the evening, and that otherwise she would not have been raped and killed.
Besides the CITU leaders, national and state leaders of the All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers were also in the team.
