Community kitchen led by the CITU

With the lockdown declared after the Covid outbreak, a community kitchen led by the CITU has been running in the Kalamassery municipal area to deliver food to people left stranded, to those providing services including ambulances, and to people living on the streets. The work, which began when the lockdown started, is going ahead in compliance with all Covid rules and directions. At the community kitchen at Pallath Restaurant on HMT Road, Kalamassery, led by CITU Ernakulam district joint secretary Adv. Mujeeb Rahman, food is served without a break to about four hundred people every afternoon and evening. The food is made from provisions brought by workers and other members of the public.
