The central government has given corporates huge tax concessions and written off their bad loans, and is making good the capital losses banks suffer as a result. Those who took loans through microfinance and from micro, small and medium enterprise schemes are drowning in a pool of tears. In the name of attracting global investors, another stimulus package of Rs 1.68 lakh crore is being put together, under the name of a self-reliant India, with lavish concessions for foreign investors. That is what is special about the Covid package.

In the time of the pandemic, the BJP's appeasement of corporates shines like a star, while crores of poor people drown in a pool of tears.
