Farmers' agitation against the BJP government's anti-farmer bill

Crores of farmers across the country took part yesterday in the national agitation against the BJP government's anti-farmer bill.

In various states, CITU activists also joined the agitation, declaring solidarity with the farmers' and agricultural workers' organisations. In many states, state governments used the police to attack the protests, and hundreds of farmers, workers and activists were injured.

Agricultural workers held nationwide protests yesterday under the leadership of various organisations, demanding that the anti-farmer bill be withdrawn and that the central government abandon its anti-farmer policies.
