Make the Consumerfed employees' strike on September 5 a success: CITU

Two comrades who are state office-bearers of the Consumerfed Workers Association (CITU) were suspended a year ago and have still not been taken back. Although agreement was reached after several rounds of talks on the charter of demands containing the employees' various demands, not one has been implemented so far. Promotions employees are entitled to are needlessly being withheld.

The management takes decisions unilaterally without considering the unions. Because of the management's obstinacy, the talks held on August 26 also failed. Raising these issues, the organisations in Consumerfed, including the CITU and the INTUC, are striking on September 5. We appeal to all workers and organisations to make the strike a success.
