Muthoot strike resumes

CITU state president Com. Anathalavattam Anandan inaugurated the indefinite satyagraha resumed by Muthoot Finance employees against the Muthoot management's mass dismissals.

The strike against the dismissal of employees through anti-worker action, which had gone on for 84 days, had to be suspended because of the Covid pandemic. After that, various forms of struggle, including token relay protests, were carried out under the leadership of the Non-Banking and Private Finance Employees Association (CITU). But with the management continuing without any change in its earlier stand, the indefinite satyagraha is beginning again, following Covid protocols.

At the satyagraha pavilion that opened in front of the head office today, CITU state secretaries Com. K Chandran Pillai and Com. K N Gopinath, CITU Ernakulam district secretary Com. C K Manisankar, Non-Banking and Private Finance Employees Association general secretary C C Ratheesh, Muthoot Finance unit secretary Nisha K Jayan and Muthoot Finance unit president Com. M Swaraj MLA spoke.
