New-generation workers are the promise of the future: Com. Elamaram Kareem MP

CITU state general secretary Com. Elamaram Kareem MP said the organised movements of workers in the emerging production and service sectors described as 'new generation' are the promise of the future. He was speaking after inaugurating the state conference of the New Generation Banks & Insurance Staff Association (CITU). He said the policies being pursued by the central BJP government, as well as destroying the public sector, are creating wage labourers in every sector, tearing down the whole wage structure workers won through long struggle and bringing in a system of slave wages. The conference, held in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, elected Com. A Ziyavudheen president and Com. Sumesh Padman general secretary. Com. Shyam Padmanabhan is treasurer.
