Observe May Day fittingly: Elamaram Kareem

Observe May Day fittingly.

The CITU state secretariat has appealed to all workers in the state to observe May Day, this year's international workers' day, fittingly. Because of the corona epidemic, the observance must follow the health department's directions. Flags must be raised at workplaces, factories, homes and markets, and everyone must take the May Day pledge.

Imperialism, which has won monopoly control over the world economy, stands bewildered before the spread of corona. More than two lakh people have died worldwide and many lakhs have fallen ill. In capitalist countries where the government abandoned the health sector and handed it to private capital, people cannot be protected. Countries such as China and Cuba stand apart.

As corona spreads across India, Kerala's achievement in preventing its spread and treating and curing patients is a matter of pride. It was keeping the health sector in the public sector that gave Kerala the strength to achieve this. The central government is trying to implement anti-worker policies under cover of Covid, and is considering extending working hours to 12. The CITU demands urgent steps against such policies and to save people's lives. We appeal to everyone to raise their voices upholding the greatness of socialism and against the anti-worker policies of the central government.
