The CITU state secretariat protests against the central government's action in shackling the media. This is a move towards dictatorship that denies the people's freedom of expression. The BJP government, intolerant of the people's peaceful struggles, is gagging the media. The central government's order to stop the broadcasts of the Asianet and MediaOne channels for 48 hours stains India's democratic tradition. The government is also charging those it dislikes with sedition.

The CITU appeals to all workers to raise their protest against the central government's actions curbing the people's democratic rights and press freedom.
