K R Gouri Amma was a personality who dedicated her life to a society based on equality, ending every kind of inequality. Gouri Amma's life was one of constant struggle for the upliftment of the marginalised and for justice for them, the CITU state secretariat said in its condolence message.

Along with constant struggle, Gouri Amma proved her excellence in administration and legislative work. The struggles she began as a student she continued in one form or another even after she passed a hundred years of age. In the first Kerala ministry she played a decisive role in bringing bills including the Kerala Agrarian Reforms Act. As a legislator for a long time, she made notable contributions to Kerala society. General secretary Elamaram Kareem said the CITU state secretariat records its deep grief at Gouri Amma's passing and pays tribute before her shining memory.
