America's health system, fully privatised and run only for profit, is an international scandal. Per capita spending here is more than twice that of other developed societies, and the quality is lower. This system, with no reserve capacity at all, cannot withstand even a small crisis. It is just like the global economic order created by neoliberalism, something that can fall apart at any moment.

This was the legacy Trump received, and what he aimed for was to destroy the institutions neoliberalism had not yet wrecked. To those worried about rebuilding a sustainable society from these ruins, this is what must be said:
