Statement issued by the joint committee of trade unions: solidarity with the farmers' struggle

The joint committee of trade unions has decided to organise solidarity programmes for the December 8 Bharat Bandh called by the farmers' struggle committee in all districts of the state except those where polling is taking place. Programmes suited to each area will be organised.

The life-and-death struggle the farmers are waging, centred on Delhi, has the support of all the workers in the state. The struggle committee has raised the demands to withdraw the three laws that destroy agriculture and to abandon electricity privatisation.

The joint committee of trade unions registered strong protest against the central government's stand of suppressing the farmers' struggle.
